Teacup Treasures — A size and care reference | teacup-treasures.com
Five toy breeds plus the teacup band and the toy-group ceiling on one scale in pounds and kilograms — the chart that answers which dogs actually stay under 5 lb.
Start with the reference line: the toy group tops out at under 12 lb (5.4 kg), and the small-breed band above it runs 12-25 lb (5.4-11.3 kg). Everything teacup happens in the bottom sliver of that chart — a 4-5 lb adult is only one-third to two-fifths of the toy ceiling.
The five breeds behind most dogs sold as teacup publish these adult ranges: Chihuahua 3-6 lb (1.4-2.7 kg), Yorkshire Terrier 4-6 lb (1.8-2.7 kg), Toy Poodle 4-6 lb (1.8-2.7 kg), Pomeranian 3-7 lb (1.4-3.2 kg) and Maltese 4-7 lb (1.8-3.2 kg). Only the Chihuahua and the Pomeranian even start below 4 lb.

Height enters the chart only at the extreme: the shortest dog on record stood 3.8 in (9.65 cm) at the shoulder, and the smallest Chihuahua on record weighed 1 lb (0.45 kg). Breed standards speak in weight, so an honest chart lists inches only where a verified number exists.
Lifespan reads better in the small rows: small breeds average 12-16 years against 7-10 for large breeds, and published teacup Yorkie guidance puts that dog at about 12 years.
Use the chart together with the growth curve at /how-big-will-my-teacup-puppy-get: double the 4-5 month weight, then check which band the answer falls in. While the puppy climbs toward its band, meals follow the schedule at /teacup-puppy-feeding-schedule.
